Your elbow hurts!

As you walk down the street you wonder how you would have felt about yourself if you'd just left. Sure, you may have embarassed yourself and probably made the situation worse by interfering, but who wouldn't do that if they were in your shoes, you know? You'd have felt like garbage.

Or maybe, you think, you didn't do that out of the goodness of your heart. Maybe you just did it so you could feel good about yourself. Maybe the situation's a lot more complicated than it appears on the surface-

Oh, who cares. If you slap around service workers then that's what you deserve. End of story.

As you're lost in this train of thought you look at the park. Geez.

There's fallen leaves everywhere and the trees are almost naked. The place is completely overgrown and the playground is rusting to pieces. If some kid cut their arm on the equipment they'd probably get hospitalized for tetanus.

That bench over there looks nice though. There's a spot where it's not completely covered in lichen.

Just as you're about to sit down you feel something break under your shoe with an audible crunching noise.

You're not entirely sure what it is. In fact you can't see it. You kick aside the leaf litter and find bits of colourful junk.

Two seconds later you realize it's what's left of a gaudy trinket made from coloured tinfoil, glitter, and plastic gemstones. Who left this there?

"Oi!" you hear someone say.

Right behind the bench you see a teenager who may as well have materialized there. "I was selling those. Now pay me. Fifteen bucks."

You haven't been having a very good day. Annoyance builds up in your lungs..

"Don't think I will, thank you very much," you say.

"Not my fault I dropped it." he says, coming closer to you. "Pay up right now."

This is very obviously a scam no self-respecting person would fall for. You have no patience for this.

You crack your knuckles and...

Pummel him to the ground

Walk away and leave him alone
